My research focuses on the implications of emerging Information and Communication Technologies on collective action and political activism in restrictive environments, and how network-mediated communication influences knowledge creation and construction of social identities. I also enjoy riding bikes off-road (I founded the Egyptian mountain biking enthusiast group, MTB Egypt), strong black coffee, and writing.
