Who let the dogs out?

Apparently the animal control people in Cairo are on an extended vacation, becuase the number of stray dogs on the streets is just unbelievable.

Anyway, jogging every morning, I often run into a rather comical pack of stray dogs. I took my camera along and decided to live the role of the “wildlife photographer”

If my dog is “jogging” off-leash with me and we meet them, things can get ugly.

Google Earth

This is the coolest thing since…the last coolest thing. Apart from all the neat things you can do with this if you have a GPS, its simply so darn cool to gawk at all this satellite imagery.

Here is my house. Nasr City looks so ugly from above.

He was my neighbour

I come home from work to find my street swarming with people: TV news reporters, photographers and cameramen and the whole place is in a gerneral state of confusion. Turns out that Egypt’s kidnapped top envoy in Iraq has been killed by his kidnappers…but what the hell are all those people doing here? What I didn’t know is that the guy was actually my neighbour, living in the building right next to mine.
