Europe, June-July 2006

First of all, an apology is due for Mike & Jason for bailing out on the Central America trip.

That said, I am in Bareclona, Spain now…the first stop of a 3 week trip to Europe. Armed with a rail pass, I drafted a flexible trip plan that is subject to whimsical changes along the way…I hate overplanning my trips. I only booked my first hostel in Barcelona to avoid having to spend the night on another European train station (although it was fun). See the (tentative) route plan below.

We missed you buddy (or should I say Amigo?). It’s been a great run. We moved like maniacs, but saw tons. Mexico, cuba (AWESOME!), Belize (not so awesome, but parts were OK), Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and now Costa Rica.

Mick joined us for most of it. Many loooong bus rides, five UNESCO sites and six new countries for me. Next year we gotta do something together. Africa baby, AFRIKA! Sub-Saharan. Khartoum maybe. Kenya, Kilimanjaro. Something.

Hope you had a ball. We’ll be back in US in five days.

Good to hear from you man! Sounds like you guys had a blast. I had a good journey through Europe..worked my way from Barcelona through Southern France, Northern Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands to Berlin, Germany..which was awesome during the World Cup.

I am totally up for Africa! I LIVE in Africa so I have to see it. That, of course, is subject to availability of time and funds :)
