Spent a few days in Sharm El Sheik. It was mostly a typically slow, sedentary, sun, sea and sand kind of vacation, with exceptions (see first point below) – didn’t even go diving – but it was all I could do with no international travel planned.
Notes to self for future vacations:
- Towable Ski Tube (donut?) riding is an extreme sport: A 10-minute (which seemed like an eternity) ride gave me 3 days of intense soreness in my lower back and arms, blistered calves, bloodshot eyes, plus swallowing a few liters of the overly salty Red Sea water. And I was friggin haggling with the guy to give me an extra two minutes before I went in. Well, he really gave my my money’s worth. It was great though.
- I do not enjoy nightclubs: Must be getting old huh? Blame it on the prefrontal cortex. Truth is, I do not think anyone enjoys night clubs, even the people who say they do. What kind of fun is there in standing in a large dimly lit room that stinks of tobacco smoke and sweat, watching many, many losers jump around to the sounds made by a guy banging with a stick on a trash can? (Its called House music, dude!). Its horrible. No wonder those who say they do like it have to increase their intake of drugs and booze while they’re in there to be able to endure such misery. After three nights of this I was ready for other forms of nocturnal entertainment. Mostly sleeping.

2 things man:
1) You say you don’t like nightclubs, but you looked like a party animal with your funky chicken dance
2) Well, I can understand why you wouldn’t mention the safari trips or ras muhammad or the the water polo.. but man you didn’t mention the fun part… you know, whatever happened on the last day!

You mean my food poisoning? Oh yeah that was fun.
Seriously though, the quadrunner safari second time around was great!
